Winery Accommodation on the Mornington Peninsula

The best Peninsula wine weekends improve when you stop treating accommodation as an afterthought. The right base means you drink once, eat properly, and wake up where the trip actually happens, instead of spending the whole weekend running transfers between Sorrento beds and Red Hill lunches.

The good options are limited, distinct, and easy to choose between once you know what sort of weekend you are building. Polperro Villas and Crittenden Estate Villas are for couples who want to stay embedded in the vineyard experience. Port Phillip Estate is the Peninsula's most architecturally serious winery stay: Wood Marsh-designed, one-hat restaurant, six suites. Mantons Creek Estate is the under-indexed option near Shoreham, two minutes from Ten Minutes by Tractor with on-estate Italian dining. Cassis Red Hill is not on a working winery but sits adjacent to one, and every villa has a private heated plunge pool. Jackalope and Lindenderry are the hotel-format alternatives for those who want service infrastructure alongside the wine-country position.

Note on Point Leo Estate: Point Leo does not operate on-estate accommodation. The Lon to Leo package pairs with Lon Retreat in Sorrento. For stays near Laura and the sculpture park, Mantons Creek Estate is the nearest vineyard-stay alternative.

How to use this category

Best for a one-night wine weekend?

Jackalope if you want drama and a stronger hotel experience. Polperro Villas if you want something quieter, more intimate, and directly embedded in the wine-country mood.

Best for a slower two-night stay?

Port Phillip Estate (architecture, one-hat restaurant, six suites on the estate), Lindenderry, and Crittenden Estate Villas all work well when the weekend is less about ticking off cellar doors and more about pace, meals, and place.

Best for the southern Red Hill circuit?

Mantons Creek Estate - two minutes from Ten Minutes by Tractor, Quattro Restaurant on-site. The most under-indexed winery stay on the Peninsula.

Why this matters

The Peninsula's wine-country roads are beautiful but narrow and badly lit at night. The more you can collapse dining, tasting, and sleeping into the same zone, the better the weekend becomes.
