Crittenden's lakeside villas are the most unfussed winery stay on the Peninsula. Each villa is self-contained, kitchen, fireplace, private terrace on the lake, and the layout of the estate means the cellar door and tasting rooms are a two-minute walk from your front door. The lake setting is genuinely calming rather than decorative, and the vineyard views from the terrace change across the day in a way that rewards staying put.
Note: Stillwater at Crittenden is permanently closed. The on-estate restaurant is now Crittenden Restaurant under Head Chef Brunno Melo, operating daily lunch and Friday to Saturday dinner. The villas are unaffected by the change, but confirm the current restaurant schedule when booking.
Book for a Sunday-to-Tuesday stay to avoid the weekend wedding schedule. Order the Los Hermanos tasting on arrival and work through the Nebbiolo at the restaurant dinner service.
