Polperro Villas might be the Peninsula's most quietly luxurious stay. There are only two of them, each a self-contained two-bedroom house sitting in its own vineyard plot with an outdoor bath, a wood fire, a kitchen you'd actually use, and a view back across the rows to the winery.
The arrangement is deliberate: check in, drive your car to the villa, and you do not need to see another guest for the whole weekend. Polperro's cellar door is a short walk through the vines. Breakfast hampers are left for you the night before. It is the closest the Peninsula has to a private country house rental at estate-hotel quality.
Book a month out for weekends. Two nights minimum. The villa with the north-facing deck is slightly better in autumn.
