Mornington Peninsula Chocolates is the sweet stop you slot into a Flinders or hinterland loop without planning to and somehow spend forty minutes in. The chocolates are handmade, the hot chocolate is the real thing, and the small café at the front holds enough seasonal stock, Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas, to justify a return visit or three across a year.
It is unpretentious and built for families. The kids get a treat, the adults get a proper mocha and a slice of something, and everyone leaves with a small box for later. The room is small and fills up on weekends; arrive mid-morning if you want a table. The seasonal gift range makes it one of the better Peninsula stops when you need to bring something back to Melbourne.
A useful seasonal gift stop when visitors are in town and you need something to take back with you.
