Winter Wine Weekend, Winter Wine Festival (Red Hill Showgrounds)
Saturday's headline event. 38 Peninsula wineries and 150 wines under the Red Hill Showgrounds pavilions, Riedel glass included, masterclass upgrade available, designated driver tickets cheap.
Saturday 6 June, 11am to 4pm, in the Pavilions at Red Hill Showgrounds. Your ticket covers a Riedel tasting glass, the room, and all 150 wines across 38 wineries. The masterclass upgrade gets you into a hosted flight with Ed Merrison. The designated driver ticket exists, use it.
For first-time Peninsula visitors this is the single best afternoon to learn the region. For locals it's the only day you can compare Stonier, Polperro, Paringa, Montalto and Crittenden inside an hour.
Do the festival Saturday, dinner at Many Little or Merricks General Store, cellar door trail Sunday with a long lunch booked. The Red Hill Brewery Secret Stash weekend lands a fortnight later if you want to come back.
