Mornington Peninsula Winter Wine Weekend 2026

Three days of Peninsula wine across the King's Birthday long weekend. Saturday's Winter Wine Festival at Red Hill Showgrounds anchors the weekend; Sunday and Monday spill out to the cellar doors.

Worth the drive

Three days across the King's Birthday long weekend, with Saturday's Winter Wine Festival at Red Hill Showgrounds as the centrepiece. Dozens of wineries, 120+ wines in one room, a Riedel glass at the door, food and music inside the pavilions. Sunday and Monday are when the cellar doors come alive: long lunches, masterclasses, set menus in the tasting rooms.

For first-timers: buy the Saturday festival ticket and you'll learn more about the Peninsula in four hours than two months of cellar-door visits. For returning regulars: skip Saturday, book a long lunch on the Sunday or Monday at Polperro, Ten Minutes by Tractor or Montalto.

Book accommodation in Red Hill or Merricks now, it's the cheapest weekend rate of the year and the rooms go.

Keep planning
