Capel Sound is a bayside town west of Rosebud, with a Port Phillip beach, foreshore campsites and a section of the Bay Trail.
Capel Sound runs along Port Phillip Bay west of Rosebud and east of Tootgarook. Its long beach, foreshore campsites and flat Bay Trail make walking and camping the main reasons to stop. Cafes and shops sit across Point Nepean Road from the reserve. Summer camping rules and availability change by season, so check the foreshore operator before making plans. The locality was renamed from Rosebud West in 2016.
