Why we’d go

The only cellar door on the Peninsula that turns a flight into a small meal by design, not as an add-on.

Barmah Park has built the Peninsula's most serious cellar-door-as-dining-experience around a single repeatable format: a structured five-wine, five-canape pairing run out of a small kitchen that cooks to hatted standard. One canape is designed for each wine, paced and explained, across a single relaxed hour at a communal wooden table. No other Peninsula cellar door offers this as its default proposition, everywhere else, food is either a grazing board or a separate restaurant.

The wines are quietly excellent, Italian-leaning varieties alongside Peninsula standards, but the format is the real draw. Most tasting rooms run on parallel counters and brisk pours; Barmah Park sits you down, feeds you, and turns a flight into a considered meal. For anyone who finds the bigger estates impersonal, this is the corrective.

Book ahead, the pairing experience runs limited sessions and weekday mornings are the best way to have the place almost to yourself.

Worth knowing

Best for
Cellar door visits · Long lunches · Anniversary weekends · Wine lovers

If you only do one thing

Book the structured pairing rather than a drop-in tasting, the canape-per-wine format is the whole point, and the walk-in experience does not replicate it.
