The Bloody Long Walk – Mornington Peninsula 2026

35km charity walk from Point Nepean Quarantine Station to Martha Cove Marina for the Mito Foundation. Walk, jog or run. Limited spots.

Worth the drive

A 35km coastal charity walk from Point Nepean Quarantine Station to Martha Cove Marina, raising funds for the Mito Foundation (mitochondrial disease research). You can walk, jog or run it, and spots are capped so it sells out.

Who it's for: teams who want a hard physical day with a cause attached. The route uses some of the best stretches of southern Peninsula coast, with checkpoints and food along the way.

The practical move: register early, build a fundraising page from the day you sign up, and train on the actual Portsea-to-Sorrento section in the months before. Stay overnight in Portsea the night before so you're at the start without a 5am drive. Dinner in Sorrento or Mornington at the finish.

Keep planning

Peninsula This Weekend 18 to 19 July

July sits in the quieter stretch of Peninsula winter, and that is the point. The lead booking is a truffle hunt at Red Hill. Sunday is for the sculpture park at Pt. Leo.
