Peninsula Hot Springs has been open since 2005 and has grown from a few pools in a paddock into the most ambitious wellness complex in the country. It has also been a victim of its own success: weekends can feel more crowded than relaxing, and the Amphitheatre pool can read as more spectacle than experience. None of this changes the fundamental fact that the full circuit, properly done, in the right session, is still the clearest wellness-to-relaxation pipeline the Peninsula offers.
The Bath House premium session midweek or a Twilight session in the cooler months are the versions that deliver. The Hilltop Pool, the Reflexology Walk, and the private baths reward people who actually move through the circuit rather than photograph it. Booking a guided or structured session improves the experience considerably over arriving without a plan.
Alba is tighter and more modern. Peninsula Hot Springs is larger, older, and has the deeper program. Both are worth doing, just not on the same day.
