Alba Thermal Springs & Spa

The Peninsula's second-generation thermal springs complex, cleaner architecture, smaller crowds, better pacing than the original.

Why we’d go

Where Peninsula Hot Springs sells the spectacle, Alba sells the day, and for anyone who has done both, the distinction is obvious.

Alba opened in 2022 with a deliberately stripped-back approach: thirty-one geothermal pools set into a quiet landscape in Fingal, a ticketing system that caps bather numbers so the experience doesn't collapse into chaos, and a spa building that treats architecture as part of the wellness proposition rather than an afterthought. It is the thermal springs the Peninsula had been waiting for since the original became a theme park.

The hot and cold circuits are properly sequenced. The architecture is confident without being showy, raw concrete, natural stone, clean sightlines. The on-site cafe is sensible. The whole thing feels more like a European bath house than a tourist attraction, which is exactly what most Peninsula visitors want and rarely get from this category.

Book a morning session. Do the full thermal circuit properly rather than hopping between pools for photographs. Lunch on the ridge afterwards and you have one of the most complete wellness days the Peninsula offers.

If you only do one thing

Book the earliest morning session, do the hot-cold circuit in full without rushing it, and eat lunch at a Ridge restaurant afterwards, the whole sequence takes six hours and feels like a proper day away.
