Why we’d go

The southern Peninsula's most practical base, walking distance from Flinders village, a short drive to the coast, and a pub that actually earns its keep.

Flinders Hotel works because it understands exactly what it is: a comfortable village anchor rather than a fantasy retreat. The rooms are contemporary, clean, and well-sized, and the location puts you within walking distance of Flinders' bakery, village shops, and the short drive down to the pier and coast.

The attached pub gives the whole property a welcome looseness. Stay here if you want to spend your days moving between the ocean side and the wine side of the Peninsula without ever feeling too far from either.

A smart base for couples doing the southern end properly, pair it with Moke Dining for one of the peninsula's better three-course evenings.
