Why we’d go

The one Dromana café that feels properly considered, wholefood without being preachy, and a retail shelf that can stock a weekend's worth of Peninsula pantry essentials.

Small Stone Pantry is the one Dromana café that feels properly considered. The food leans wholefood without being preachy, grain bowls that actually taste of something, eggs done with a real herb garnish, house-made granola, pastries from a hinterland bakery, and the little retail shelf at the front doubles as a curated pantry of Peninsula producers: olive oils, honey, vinegars, salts, a few ferments.

It is the kind of café you stop at on the way down the bayside and leave with breakfast in your stomach and half a bag of things for the weekend's kitchen. The coffee is good, the service is quick, and the room is small enough that the morning feels personal. This is a useful stop regardless of where on the Peninsula you are headed, the retail shelf travels with you.

Useful on a drive from Melbourne when you want to buy your weekend's supplies in one stop.
