Pier Street Fresh Seafood is the Peninsula fish-and-chips ritual in one address. The cabinet holds whatever came off the boats that morning, the fryer runs non-stop on a hot afternoon, and the move is the one the locals already know: point at what looks good, pay at the counter, carry the parcel across to the Dromana foreshore and eat it with your feet in the sand.
The fish is unglamorous and excellent, flathead, whiting, flake, calamari done properly, and the sides are honest. This is not a restaurant and it is not pretending to be. It is the place that keeps the Peninsula's fish-and-chips credibility intact while every other bayside town moves toward something more polished. When everything else on the bayside has a wait, Pier Street is already done.
