Sorrento Solstice Festival 2026

Free winter solstice weekend on the Sorrento Foreshore. Two music stages, fire performers, a 6-metre burning effigy on the bay at 6:30pm Saturday, lanterns, food trucks, sunrise swim Sunday.

Worth the drive First timer

Two days on the Sorrento Foreshore over the winter solstice: Saturday afternoon into night with two music stages, fire performers, illuminated lantern path, projection art, food trucks, local producers pouring; Sunday morning the brave do a sunrise swim. The centrepiece is the burning of a 6-metre handcrafted effigy on the bay at 6:30pm Saturday.

The practical move: book accommodation in Sorrento months ahead (winter long weekend, locals know), arrive Saturday by 4pm to walk the lantern path while it's still light, dinner in the village afterwards. Dress for an actual winter night: thermals, beanie, the lot.

Free, ticketing on Humanitix is recommended (the crowd is real). Sunrise swim 7am Sunday on the foreshore.

Keep planning
