The Baldry’s Creek Track through Arthurs Seat State Park sits in a narrow window right now. The wattle that peaked in August is finishing, and the spider orchids and sun orchids are opening in the clearings along the lower creek section. By mid-October the canopy fills in and you lose both.
The trail runs through mixed stringybark and manna gum forest above a seasonal creek that is still running well after the winter rainfall. The air is different too - cold-clean rather than dry.
