# Fishing tours on the Mornington Peninsula

Operator-led fishing as a bookable experience. Snapper-season charters, Western Port whiting and flathead, mid-size group bookings, and Bass Strait offshore. The booking-first view; the editorial comparison lives at /fishing/charters/.

Two paths, one operator network

## This hub or the fishing-charters hub?

Peninsula Insider runs two surfaces for fishing-charter intent. This page (in the [Tours](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/tour/>) vertical) is the booking-first view: every operator we cover, framed as a bookable experience. The [fishing-charters hub](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/fishing/charters/>) is the editorial-comparison view: the same operators framed by target species, season, departure point, and licence-cover status. They share the same operator network. Pick whichever framing matches your decision.

Operators

## Peninsula fishing-charter operators

Each operator is editorially profiled with the species they target, the departure ramps they use, the vessel detail, and price band. Select any operator to read the full profile.

### [I'm Hooked Fishing Charters](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/fishing/charters/im-hooked-fishing-charters/>)

Licence covered

Skipper Mal and a 2024 24-foot Devil Cat catamaran out of multiple Peninsula ramps. Calendar built around the Oct to Dec snapper run; mixed-bag sessions through the rest of the year. Wheelchair-accessible vessel, family-friendly without sacrificing the technical fishing. Licence covered for the day.

### [Proline Charters](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/fishing/charters/proline-charters/>)

Operating from Berth 1 at Sorrento Pier since 1991. The two vessels (60-foot Due South and 41-foot Strait Shooter) are the largest fishing-charter platforms in Victoria. Standard product is a five-hour bay session for snapper, whiting, and squid. The differentiator is what becomes possible at scale: 15 to 20 passenger groups, Bass Strait shark expeditions, multi-day King Island and Portland tuna runs.

### [Reel Time Fishing Charters](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/fishing/charters/reel-time-fishing-charters/>)

Operating since 2004 with two trailer boats (8 passenger and 10 passenger) capable of running simultaneously across multiple Peninsula ramps. Lower per-person price band than the larger purpose-built charters. Suits mid-size groups of 11 to 18 who want everyone on the water at the same session time without booking a 60-foot vessel.

### [Western Port Fishing Charters](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/fishing/charters/western-port-fishing-charters/>)

Captain Robin Gray's 50-foot Westcoaster flybridge out of Westernport Marina, Hastings. Western Port-exclusive operation: tidal channels, estuary margins, the species mix that Port Phillip Bay operators do not consistently target. Capacity for 20, the largest charter platform serving Western Port. Wheelchair accessible.

Adjacent water tours

## Boat-based experiences that aren't fishing

Cruise, sailing, kayak, and surf-water tours that share the operator-led-on-the-water frame without the fishing focus.

### [Searoad Ferries: Sorrento–Queenscliff Bay Crossing](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/tour/searoad-sorrento-queenscliff-crossing/>)

The 40-minute roll-on/roll-off ferry crossing between Sorrento and Queenscliff traverses Port Phillip Bay and connects the Mornington Peninsula to the Bellarine Peninsula. For adults, it is a practical route that bypasses the Melbourne ring-road. For children, it tends to become the most memorable part of the day.

### [Temptation Sailing Bay Cruise](<https://peninsulainsider.com.au/tour/temptation-sailing-bay-cruise/>)

Temptation Sailing's bay cruise departs Sorrento Pier aboard a classic sailing vessel for a half-day passage across Port Phillip Bay. The pace is deliberately unhurried: sailing is the primary experience, with wildlife encounters a welcome possibility rather than the focus. Dolphin sightings are common but not structured into the itinerary. Groups are capped at 18 to keep the vessel uncrowded.
